Frequently Asked Questions

How much will it cost to attend the hall of fame dinner and ceremony?

You will receive four (4) complimentary tickets to the Hall of Fame induction ceremony. One for you, one for your presenter, and two for guests.

Please complete the Dinner Selection Form and return it to Bobbi Caprice at 25 Yearsley Mill Road, Media PA 19063, as soon as possible, but no later than January 1, 2024. The cost for additional guests will be $75 per person. Checks should be made payable to Penn State Brandywine Athletics.

How many guests can I invite to attend the dinner?

That is entirely up to you. One of the reasons you will have a presenter is so they can invite your family, friends, teammates and former coaches. Many inductees might feel a bit uncomfortable inviting people to their own induction. But once everyone is there, it is worth it. The night promises to be a great time and truly, the more, the merrier!

However, RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. We really do not anticipate a problem with being able to handle a large number, but if the banquet room is approaching capacity, tickets to the dinner will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Each inductee will have a table reserved for them and more are possible depending upon who requests to be seated with you. Anyone with 10 paid reservations may reserve a table. We will do our best to accommodate requests.

We strongly recommend that you provide us with the names of those who will be coming for you and want to sit with or near you, along with their checks.

What should I wear?

Jacket and tie or cocktail attire.

What if I am not able to attend?

You will be missed, but we will recognize you in whatever way you choose: send a written statement; send a video acceptance (but let us know in advance so we can have the appropriate technology present); have a family member or friend accept for you; or have someone from the school speak on your behalf. Present or not, you will be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

How much time should I tell my presenter he/she has? How much time do I have for my speech?

Following open remarks, we will have up to 5 minutes per presenter and 5 minutes per inductee. We would really like to keep the evening moving along and not short change the inductees at the end of the program. Short, sweet and sincere is always good.

Will I receive a memento of my induction in the Hall of Fame?

An individual award will be given to you at the banquet. In addition, a plaque with your picture and bio on it will be placed in the Hall of Fame which is located in the lobby of the gym.

Will this be covered in the local press and how can I get copies?

We will do our best to circulate information to local newspapers such as the Daily Times, News of Delaware County and The Philadelphia Inquirer. If you give us newspapers in your area we will contact them as well. We will mail everyone copies of any stories that are printed.

How has COVID-19 changed this event?

Penn State is following all CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19.

We do plan to live stream the ceremony for anyone who cannot attend. A link will be distributed as we get closer to the ceremony.

I can’t remember a question I had the other day, but . . .
