Brandywine Student-Athletes Honored For Academic Achievement

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine honored students at its academic recognition ceremony on Tuesday night and numerous student-athletes were among the group receiving awards.

Twenty-three Lions representing nine varsity sports and the club ice hockey team earned academic achievement awards. Since 1983, the Penn State Brandywine Academic Achievement Award has been received by full-time students with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

In addition, Maddie Malfara was one-of-eight students to earn the President’s Freshman Award for completing the first semester at Penn State Brandywine with a 4.0 grade-point average.
