Forty-Three Fall Student-Athletes Named To PSUAC All-Academic Team
MEDIA, Pa. -- A total of 43 Penn State Brandywine fall student-athletes were recognized for their efforts in the classroom during the fall semester as the group was named to the Penn State University Athletic Conference All-Academic Team on Thursday.
To land the academic all-conference distinction, student-athletes must earn at least a 3.0 grade-point average during their semester of competition or own a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater and be at least a sophomore in academic standing.
Nearly two-thirds of Brandywine’s 65 fall student-athletes (66 percent) claimed the award, representing a growth in number of athletes honored during the fall semester for the third consecutive year.
Leading the way for the six fall teams was the Lions’ conference-champion women’s soccer team, which saw 13 student-athletes recognized.
The men’s soccer team, which claimed its third PSUAC crown in the last four seasons, had 11 student-athletes named to the all-academic team, while seven member of the volleyball team earned the distinction.
The women’s tennis and cross country teams each placed six student-athletes on the PSUAC All-Academic Team.
