Michael Menichini Service Award 2013 Presented to Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Matthew Shupp.
The Michael Menichini Service Award recognizes service to and the support of athletics at Penn State Brandywine. This award has been given to faculty, staff, coaches and students and entire departments. The one tie that binds all the previous award winners together is their selfless support of Brandywine athletics and their dedication to our Penn State Brandywine student athletes.
This year’s recipient, Matthew Shupp, has made a positive impact on our campus from the minute their foot hit the ground. To say that he is a “Brandywine Builder” would understate the dedication and service he has provided to the students at our campus. A staunch defender of the importance of athletics in the educational mix our awardee has gone to bat for our student athletes on countless occasions but has also demanded excellence from them in return. Supporting our new initiatives and being a cheerleader for the department Dr. Matthew Shupp has done incredible things in the last five years to help move us forward.
