Osenbach Lands Academic All-Area Honor

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine third baseman Tom Osenbach (Newtown Square, Pa./West Chester Christian) was selected to the academic all-area baseball team by the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philly-SIDA on Friday.

A 2016 graduate of Penn State, Osenbach was one of 10 baseball players from colleges and universities in the Greater Philadelphia area to earn the distinction. He is the third Brandywine student-athlete to claim the award during the 2015-16 academic year, joining fellow graduating seniors Manny Amine (men's soccer) and Miranda Biondi (volleyball).

Also named First Team Academic All-American by Capital One/CoSIDA, Osenbach received his bachelor degree in information sciences and technology from Penn State this spring after earning his third USCAA National Academic Team and fourth PSUAC All-Academic Team award during his four years at Brandywine.

On the field, Osenbach was named PSUAC Hitter of the Year and was selected as a USCAA All-American for the third consecutive season, while also earning First Team All-PSUAC accolades for the fourth time. He batted .413 at the plate, one of the top batting averages in the USCAA, and added 27 runs batted in and 25 runs scored in 39 games.
