Brandywine Baseball Reveals 2019 Schedule

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine third-year baseball head coach Vinny Gallo released his team's 2019 schedule, featuring 37 games during the upcoming spring season, on Thursday.

For the second-straight year, Brandywine faces SUNY Cobleskill to open the season with back-to-back home doubleheaders against the Fighting Tigers on February 23 and 24. The Lions swept two games from Cobleskill during their 2018 season-opener.

One week later, Brandywine will make its annual trek south for six games in seven days in Florida during Spring Break. The Lions play doubleheaders against PSUAC West Division rival Penn State Fayette (Mar. 2) and SUNY Oneonta (Mar. 5), while facing Coe College (Mar. 3) and Fontbonne University (Mar. 6) in single, nine-inning matchups.

After returning from Florida, Brandywine's makes a March 13 visit to McDaniel, followed by a four-game series against Central Penn beginning with two games on the road on March 16. The next day, Brandywine will host the Knights for the final two games of the series.

Brandywine, the runner-up in the PSUAC in 2018, opens conference play with three games against Penn State Schuylkill. The Lions play host to Schuylkill on March 22 and travel to Schuylkill Haven for a twin bill one day later.

The Lions travel to Wilkes (Mar. 24) and Eastern (Mar. 26) before returning home to open a three-game series with Penn State Wilkes Barre. Brandywine, which knocked Wilkes Barre out of the PSUAC Tournament to advance to the title game last season, hosts a single game on March 29 and makes the return trip on March 30.

Brandywine will meet Eastern for the second time in eight days, this time at home on April 3, before hosting Penn State Hazleton for two games 48 hours later. Brandywine and Hazleton round out the three-game series at Hazleton on April 6.

After a trip to Centenary (N.J.) on April 10, the Lions are back at home to face Penn State York on April 11. Two days later, York will host Brandywine for two games at PeoplesBank Park, home of the York Revolution, a professional baseball team playing in the independent Atlantic League.

Brandywine faces Clarks Summit for its final two of 17 games against NCAA Division III opponents on the schedule on April 16 before a season-closing three-game series against Penn State Scranton. The Lions visit Scranton on April 19 and host Scranton for a doubleheader on April 22.

Penn State DuBois will host the PSUAC and USCAA Tournaments for the second-straight year. The conference tournament will conclude with the title game on May 6, while the USCAA World Series begins May 12.
