Michaels Lands Second PSUAC Pitcher Of The Week Selection

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine senior Tyler Michaels (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) was named Penn State University Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season on Tuesday.

Michaels hurled his third complete game shutout of the season last Friday, blanking Penn State York for seven innings in a 10-0 win. He held York without a hit through the first four innings and yielded just three hits, all singles, during the outing.

In nine appearances this spring (seven starts), Michaels has five victories, the second-highest win total among PSUAC pitchers, and a league-leading 46 strikeouts. Michaels also owns a 2.29 earned run average, good for fifth-best in the PSUAC.

During five appearances against PSUAC opponents, Michaels has won four games, while allowing just one earned run in 31.2 innings, pitching to a 0.28 ERA.

Michaels and classmates Joey Buoni and Eddie Caufield will be honored on Senior Night when Brandywine (15-13, 7-5 PSUAC) hosts Clarks Summit Tuesday evening at 4:00 pm.
