Brandywine Falls On Senior Night

MEDIA, Pa. -- Trent Thomas and Richard Grant combined for 47 points for Penn State York as Penn State Brandywine was downed 90-66 on Senior Night during the Lions' final home game of the season on Tuesday night.

Thomas netted 25 points, while Grant added 22 points and nine rebounds for hot-shooting York, which connected on 48 percent of its shots from the field. York also held a 55-27 edge on the boards.

James Fisher (Philadelphia, Pa./Upper Darby) scored 13 of his team-high 17 points during the second half to lead Brandywine. Shafi Mohammad (Philadelphia, Pa./Hawbridge School (N.C.)) tallied 12 points and seven rebounds, while Isaiah Lester (Morton, Pa./Ridley) added 10 points.

Senior Marcus Turner (Claymont, Del./Chichester) chipped in seven points during his final collegiate home game.

Brandywine was limited to 33 percent shooting, including a 5-of-27 mark from three-point range. The Lions forced 17 York turnovers, while committing just 11 of their own.

York ran out to a 34-11 lead through 11 minutes and held a 53-30 edge at the half. A 14-4 Brandywine run spurred on by a pair of Fisher three-pointers got the Lions within 17 points midway through the second half, but Brandywine would get no closer.

The Lions' (6-18, 5-10 PSUAC) regular season comes to an end on Friday with a trip to Penn State Lehigh Valley at 8:00 pm.
