Lehigh Valley Downs Lions In Season Finale

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine's men's basketball season came to an end on Friday night following an 87-72 loss at Penn State Lehigh Valley on Friday night.

Lehigh Valley used an 11-0 run midway through the first half to build a 23-14 lead and posted a 36-23 edge at the break by scoring the final seven points of the half.

Brandywine trailed by as many as 25 points before beginning to chip away, closing within 14 points on Isaiah Wilmore's (Philadelphia, Pa./Ben Franklin) layup with 5:43 to play, but the Lions would get no closer.

Wilmore scored 17 of his team-high 21 points during the second half, while also tallying six rebounds and three steals. Edward Sanchez (Allentown, Pa./Salisbury) registered 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting and senior Marcus Turner (Claymont, Del./Chichester) posted 10 points during his final collegiate game.

Brandywine forced 20 Lehigh Valley turnovers, but connected on just 7-of-30 three-point attempts and shot 36 percent from the field overall. Zach Thomas tallied 23 points, seven assists and six rebounds to pace Lehigh Valley.

Brandywine closed the 2016-17 season with a 6-19 overall record and 5-11 mark in PSUAC play.
