Lions' Winning Run Reaches Five Games With Road Victory

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's basketball team now owns its longest winning streak in six seasons as the Lions posted a 91-82 Penn State University Athletic Conference triumph at Penn State Lehigh Valley on Saturday afternoon.

Brandywine had not won five-straight games since Jan. 5-18, 2012 prior to its current run. The Lions (5-2, 2-0 PSUAC) are already one victory shy of equaling last season's win total and claimed victories during their first two league games for the first time since the 2011-12 season.

Brandywine led for nearly the entire contest as it grabbed a 45-36 advantage through 20 minutes and then played even with Lehigh Valley, 46-46, during the second half.

Terrence Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Communications Tech) produced his second consecutive 20-point showing with 22 points, while also adding six rebounds and six assists. Rob Tindley (Lawnside, N.J./Haddon Heights) made nine of his 14 shots from the field, registering 21 points, along with five boards and four steals, while James Fisher (Philadelphia, Pa./Upper Darby) tallied 15 points, five steals and four rebounds.

Ameer Staggs (Ridley, Pa./Ridley) collected nine points and nine rebounds and Donte Winfield (Philadelphia, Pa./Simon Gratz) added eight points.

Brandywine shot nearly 43 percent (33-77) from the floor and held a slim 36-34 edge on the glass. Fifteen of the Lions' boards came on the offensive side of the floor.

The Lions forced 27 Lehigh Valley turnovers, leading to 23 points off of miscues. Brandywine's defense has produced at least 21 turnovers in all five of its victories this season.

Brandywine begins a four-game home stand Tuesday against Penn State York at 8:00 pm.
