Hunt Named PSUAC East Rookie Of The Year, First Team All-PSUAC

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine freshman guard Jacob Hunt (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine) was selected at the Penn State University Athletic Conference East Division Rookie of the Year and named First Team All-PSUAC by the league's coaches on Friday.

Hunt, Brandywine's first men's basketball rookie of the year since 2012-13, paced the Lions and all freshmen from the East Division, scoring 14.8 points per game this season. He ranked 11th overall in the league in scoring.

In 26 games, including 22 starts, Hunt reached the 20-point mark eight times, netting a season-best 32 points in a victory over Penn State Mont Alto in November. One of Brandywine's top three-point threat, Hunt buried 53 triples, averaging more than two per game, the 11th-highest count in the PSUAC.

Also Brandywine's leader in assists and steals, Hunt's 96 assists ranked fifth in the conference, while his 39 steals were tied for the 11th-best total.

In addition, sophomore Anthony Lattanzi (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) was selected as the team's John Fritz Sportsmanship Award winner. Named after former PSUAC Commissioner John Fritz, the sportsmanship award is given to one player from each team in the league who best displays the core values of the league and sportsmanship to teammates and opponents throughout the season. Lattanzi, a starter in 23 games this season, finished second on the team in rebounding (6.3 rpg), while scoring 4.6 points per game.

Brandywine finished the season with a record of 14-12 and reached the PSUAC Tournament for the second-straight year.
