Basketball Teams To Host Threes For THON Night Friday

MEDIA, Pa. -- As part of a Penn State University Athletic Conference initiative, the Penn State Brandywine men's and women's basketball teams will be raising money and awareness for THON Friday during Threes for THON Night when the teams face Penn State New Kensington.

THON is the University's student-run philanthropic organization that benefits the Four Diamond Fund by raising money and awareness for pediatric cancer research and assisting families affected by childhood cancer.

During the month of January, each of the 14 PSUAC member campuses will be hosting a Threes for THON Night. Supporters are asked to donate for every three-pointer made by the team or selected individual during the game. In addition, the conference office is donating $1 for every three-pointer made during each campus' Three for THON Night.

Supporters can sign up with a member of the Brandywine men's or women's basketball teams through noon on Friday. THON will also have an information table inside the gym throughout the games.

Both of Brandywine's teams top the PSUAC in three-point shooting as the men's side has connected on more than 36 percent of shots from beyond the arc and the women's squad owns a three-point shooting percentage of .329 this winter.

The doubleheader begins with the women's game at 6:00 pm with the men to follow at 8:00 pm.
