Gatewood Tabbed USCAA Men’s Basketball Player Of The Week

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine men's basketball junior Ketquan Gatewood (Detroit, Mich./Detroit Collegiate Prep) was selected as the national player of the week by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association on Tuesday.

Gatewood produced his 10th double-double in 17 games, recording 24 points and 15 rebounds during a 98-91 victory over Penn State New Kensington Friday night. Less than 24 hours later, he collected 16 points and seven boards against Penn State Shenango.

Overall during the week, Gatewood shot 50 percent (15-30) from the field and made four of his nine three-point attempts. He added four assists and one steal.

A starter in all 17 games this winter, Gatewood leads the PSUAC East Division, averaging 11.4 rebounds, and is scoring 16.4 points per game, good for second on the team and sixth in the East.

Gatewood enters Tuesday night's game at Penn State Wilkes-Barre (8:00 pm) with 909 collegiate points. He scored 630 points in two seasons for Delaware County Community College prior to arriving at Brandywine for the 2019-20 year.
