Barrouk Named First Team All-PSUAC; Hockenbrock Earns Newcomer Of The Year

MEDIA, Pa. -- Senior Bryce Barrouk (Glen Mills, Pa./Rustin) and Colin Hockenbrock (Wilmington, Del./St. Elizabeth) represented Penn State Brandywine on the All-Penn State University Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Teams as Barrouk earned a first team nod, while Hockenbrock received the PSUAC Newcomer of the Year award.

Barrouk, an honorable mention all-conference selection in 2019-20, was one of the top shooters in the conference for the third-straight season. He currently ranks ninth in the league, averaging 17.7 points per game, while topping all PSUAC players with 72 three-pointers. Barrouk is also seventh in the PSUAC in free throw shooting at 78.7 percent.

In 30 games this winter, Barrouk poured in over 20 points 11 times, including a pair of 30-point games. He netted a career-high 36 points against Berkeley College during the first week of the season. In January, Barrouk became the seventh 1,000-point scorer in Brandywine history during a victory over Penn State Lehigh Valley. He currently ranks third on the Lions' all-time scoring list with 1,228 career points.

Barrouk was also one of the conference's top rebounders as he has pulled in 9.0 rebounds per outing. He has produced 13 double-doubles, with three of those coming during Brandywine's run to the PSUAC Tournament championship game.

Also the second-leading shot blocker in the league (1.1 per game), Barrouk added 50 assists and 21 steals this season.

Hockenbrock leads all PSUAC defenders with 42 blocked shots, an average of 1.5 per game. His 42 blocked shots are the most by a Lion in a single season since the early 1990s. He recorded at least one block in 19 games with a career-high six coming against Penn State Lehigh Valley in January.

A starter in all 31 games, Hockenbrock ranks second on the team in scoring (12.8 ppg) and rebounding (6.2 rpg). He has tallied four 20-point games, while recording three double-doubles. Hockenbrock set a career high with 12 rebounds in a victory over Penn State Wilkes-Barre on Feb. 10 and recorded 23 points in games against Penn State Greater Allegheny and Penn State York.

Hockenbrock owns one of the conference's top shooting percentages, ranking seventh at .555. He has shot better than 55 percent from the field in each of Brandywine's last nine games.

In addition to his first team award, Barrouk received the John Fritz Sportsmanship Award. Named after former PSUAC Commissioner John Fritz, the sportsmanship award is given to one player from each team in the league who best displays the core values of the league and sportsmanship to teammates and opponents throughout the season.

Brandywine (16-17) faces Penn State York in the PSUAC Championship Saturday in the Bryce Jordan Center at 6:45 PM.
