Bio

James Schlucter enter his first season as an assistant coach at Penn State Brandywine in 2017-18.

Schlucter joins the Lions after coaching three seasons at Immacualata University where he served as an assistant coach and helped recruit the tri-state area.

Prior to Immaculata, Schlucter served one year as varsity assistant and junior varsity head coach at West Catholic Preparatory School in 2012.

In 2012, Schlucter co-founded the Annual Treasure Beach Jamaican Basketball Camp and continues to serve as one of the camp co-directors.  The camp brings positive social change to an underserved community in Jamaica through basketball. Schlucter coordinates logistics and helps oversee the coaching staff and 600+ campers each August. The camp fundraises $50,000 each year to provide a special camping experience for each camper including transportation to and from camp, three meals per day, new basketball sneakers, jerseys, shorts and socks.

Schlucter began his coaching career at Devon Preparatory School where he served as the lower school head coach for two years.

Growing up in Malvern, Schlucter worked as Special Olympics head coach for programs at Ss. Philip and James in Exton, Pa.

A 2011 Temple graduate, Schlucter earned his bachelor’s degree in communications.
