Brandywine Golf Makes Return At Penn State’s Blue Course

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Competing as a varsity team for the first time since 2013, Penn State Brandywine's men's golf team made its fall debut on Thursday morning at Penn State's Blue Course in State College against Penn State University Athletic Conference competition. The Lions' four-man squad finished eighth overall.

As a team, Brandywine totaled 372 strokes, finishing just four shots behind New Kensington for seventh place. DuBois took home the team championship with a team score of 318.

Leading Brandywine individually was freshman Brad Dawson (Southern Pines, N.C./Pinecrest), who carded an 83 on the par-72 course. Dawson, who finished tied for 13th in the 49-competitor field, closed out his round with an eagle on the 18th hole.

Connor Sadoff (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) finished four strokes behind Dawson in a tie for 22nd. Sadoff's round was highlighted by a chip-in on hole No. 6 to save par.

Rounding out Brandywine was Kyle North (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East), who recorded 100 strokes to tie for 38th, and Shane Freeman (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Archbishop Wood), who shot 102.

After shooting a one-over-par 73, Lehigh Valley's Brian Zinman claimed individual medalist honors.

Brandywine returns to action on Wednesday when it competes in the Penn State Schuylkill Invitational at Mountain Valley Golf Club beginning at 10:00 AM.
