Lions Claim Fourth Place At Schuylkill Invitational

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine golf team posted a fourth-place finish during the Penn State Schuylkill Invitational at Mountain Valley Golf Course on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lions' four-man team recorded a team total of 357 strokes to edge the hosts by two strokes for fourth place. Claiming the team championship was Penn State Lehigh Valley, while Lehigh Valley's Brian Zinman shot a two-under-par 70 to earn individual medalist honors.

Leading Brandywine was freshman Brad Dawson (Southern Pines, N.C./Pinecrest), who carded an 82 on the 6,739-yard course. Dawson finished in a tie for ninth, while Connor Sadoff's (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) round of 84 placed him 12th in the 28-competitor field. Both Dawson and Sadoff recorded back-to-back birdies midway through the round to aid in their top-12 finishes.

Kyle North (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) tied for 18th after shooting 91, while Shane Freeman (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Archbishop Wood) rounded out Brandywine by finishing the course in 100 strokes.

Brandywine returns to State College on Monday, Sept. 25 to compete at Penn State's White Course in the second PSUAC Invitational of the season.
