Brandywine Takes Fourth In Final Tune Up For Golf Championships

DALLAS, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine claimed fourth place at the Penn State Wilkes Barre Invitational on Tuesday afternoon during the team's final regular season invitational before next week's PSUAC/USCAA Golf Championships.

The Lions posted a four-man team score of 374 led by a round of 88 shot by freshman Kyle North (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) at Irem Temple Country Club. Penn State DuBois won the team championship with a total of 330 strokes, while Penn State Hazleton (336), Penn State Wilkes Barre (340) and Brandywine rounded out the top four teams.

North finished 10th individually, while Shane Freeman (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Archbishop Wood) placed 14th by shooting a round of 92. Connor Sadoff's (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) round of 94 was good for 17th place and Brad Dawson (Southern Pines, N.C./Pinecrest) finished in 20th after carding 100 strokes.

Brandywine will now set its sights on the PSUAC/USCAA Championships next Monday and Tuesday. The championships will be held in University Park on Penn State's Blue Course with each round beginning at 9:00 AM.
