Brandywine Golfers Finish Seventh In PSUAC, 17th Nationally

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine golf team rounded out its first varsity season since 2013 on Tuesday after completing the final round at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association/Penn State University Athletic Conference Championships at Penn State. The Lions claimed seventh in the conference standings, while also finishing 17th nationally.

Brandywine compiled a two-day score of 722 (348-374) on Penn State's par-72, 6,600-yard Blue Course.

Topping Brandywine individually was freshman Brad Dawson (Southern Pines, N.C./Pinecrest), who finished in a five-way tie for 55th, putting him in the top half of the 112-competitor field. Dawson followed Monday's round of 82 by shooting 83 during the final round for a two-day total of 165.

Connor Sadoff (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) closed out his freshman campaign with a total of 180 after carding a 91 during round No. 2. Classmate Kyle North (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) was just behind Sadoff with a total of 186 strokes. North coupled a round of 85 on Monday with a second-round 101. Senior Shane Freeman (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Archbishop Wood), who shot a 92 in the opening round, closed out his 36 holes by amassing 191 strokes following his second-round 99.

Earning the national title was SUNY-Delhi, which totaled 604 strokes during on Monday and Tuesday. Penn State Lehigh Valley, which finished seventh nationally, won the conference title after compiling a total of 635 strokes. Lehigh Valley was led by Evan Fahs, who won the league's individual championship, while Colton Kuppler of St. Mary of the Woods was crowned national champion.
