Brandywine Golfers Sit 13th After Day One At Rosemont

HONEYBROOK, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine men's golf team is 13th in a field of 15 NCAA Division III teams following round one of the Rosemont College Invitational on Saturday. The opening round was played at Honeybrook Golf Club, while day two will be played at Downingtown Country Club on Sunday morning.

Brandywine's four-man squad posted a team score of 360 strokes on the par-70, 6,300-yard course. York College sits in first place (283), while Swarthmore College (295) is second and the host Ravens tied Farmingdale State for third (298).

Leading Brandywine was freshman Brad Dawson (Southern Pines, N.C./Pinecrest), who ended the day in an eight-way tie for 39th place in the 76-golfer field. Dawson carded an 11-over-par 81.

Jim Gassner (Pottstown, Pa./Boyertown) recorded 86 strokes to tie for 56th, while Connor Sadoff (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) was four strokes behind him. Marc Pecko (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) rounded out the Lion golfers with an opening-round 103.

Day two begins at 8:00 am Sunday morning at Downingtown Country Club.
