Brandywine Finishes 14th At Rosemont Invitational

DOWNINGTOWN, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine golf team closed out play at the Rosemont College Invitational on Sunday morning, playing through the cool wind and rain, as the Lions placed 14th.

After posting a Saturday team score of 360 strokes at Honeybrook Golf Club, Brandywine needed 417 strokes to complete the 6,600-yard, par-72 course at Downingtown Country Club during the second round.

York College won the team title with a total score of 608, while Swarthmore College finished second, scoring 617 strokes.

Individually, Brad Dawson (Southern Pines, N.C./Pinecrest) and Connor Sadoff (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) were two of the four golfers tied for 57th place with a two-day total of 186. After carding an 81 Saturday, Dawson shot 105 during the second round, while Sadoff coupled his second-round 96 with a round of 90 one day earlier.

Jim Gassner (Pottstown, Pa./Boyertown) posted a score of 103 on Saturday to finish with a total of 189 strokes. Marc Pecko (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) totaled 216 after shooting a round of 113 on Sunday.

Tyler Newton of York carded the low mark on both Saturday (69) and Sunday (79) to win the individual crown with a total of 148 shots.
