Brandywine Takes Third At Bernie Gus Classic
NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine golf team placed third at Penn State New Kensington's Bernie Gus Classic Saturday afternoon on a windy day at the Links of Spring Church.
Brandywine sent two pairs of golfers to New Kensington and was led by Colin Shane (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) and Zachary Karlton (Oxford, Pa./Oxford), who combined to shoot an 80. That score was third-lowest among the 11 pairings competing.
Margaret Reynolds (West Chester, Pa./Westtown School) and Alex Barone (Glenolden, Pa./Concord) also placed among the top half of the groupings as the duo claimed fifth after carding a score of 83.
Penn State New Kensington's Collin McCune and Michael Kohl combined to shoot 73 as the No. 1 pairing on the day.
Brandywine returns to western Pennsylvania next Saturday to compete at the Penn State Greater Allegheny Invitational beginning at 1:00 pm.
