Brandywine Golf Claims Third At Hazleton Invitational

HAZLETON, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine golf team continued its spring season Monday afternoon with a third-place finish at the Penn State Hazleton Invitational at Valley Country Club.

The Lions recorded a four-man score of 360 in the six-team field, just behind runner-up Penn State Hazleton (351) and team champion Penn State Lehigh Valley (349).

Leading the way for the Lions was Patrick Farrell (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley), who carded a round of 83, placing fourth individually in the 33-player field. Farrell produced seven pars and birdied the par-four sixth hole.

Zachary Karlton (Oxford, Pa./Oxford) and Alex Barone (Glenolden, Pa./Concord) tied for 10th place after both completed the round in 89 strokes.

Colin Shane (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) totaled 99 shots during his round, while Jack Bell (Chichester, Pa.) rounded out the Lions with a score of 107.

Penn State Hazleton produced the top two individual scores of the day as Jeremy Harper shot a two-over-par 74 to claim medalist honors and Colin Hoy was the runner up after carding a 76.

Brandywine travels to State College for Thursday afternoon's PSUAC Invitational on Penn State's Blue Course beginning at 10:00 AM.
