Brandywine Earns Sixth Place At Fall’s Second PSUAC Invitational

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. --  The Penn State Brandywine golf team competed at its second Penn State University Athletic Conference Invitational of the fall, placing sixth during Monday's round at the Blue Course in State College.

Brandywine was led by Matt Cavanaugh (Upper Darby, Pa./Bonner-Prendie), who carded a round of 79 to finish in a tie for 10th place. Brady Foytack (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) was just behind Cavanaugh as he turned in a round of 80.

Ty Coccia (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) produced an 18-hole score of 83, while Zak Karlton (Oxford, Pa./Oxford) shot 86 and Nathan Sauder (Pittsgrove, N.J./St. Augustine Prep) completed his round in 88 strokes.

Connor Thompson (Finksburg, Md./Westminster) registered a round of 92 and Jared Morris (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton) totaled 98 strokes.

As a team, Brandywine tallied a four-player score of 328. Hazleton claimed the team title in a field of 11 squads by combining to shoot 296. A pair of Hazleton golfers, Joey Rebarchick and Jeremy Harper, shared medalist honors with rounds of two-under-par 70.

Brandywine will have a week off before competing at the Penn State Hazleton Invitational next Monday at Valley Country Club.
