Pierre's Two Goals Not Enough For Lions At Del Val

DOYLESTOWN, Pennsylvania -- Freshman Fornodson Pierre (Philadelphia, Pa./Olney Charter) scored twice, but the Penn State Brandywine men's soccer team suffered a 4-2, nonconference loss at Delaware Valley on Tuesday night.

The Aggies built a 3-0 lead during the first half behind goals from Max Drummond, Tim Szram and Kaisean Freedman; however, Pierre netted two-straight goals to get Brandywine back within striking distance.

Pierre's second goal of the season came with 6:16 remaining in the first half as Brandywine closed the deficit to two goals at the halftime break. Nearly nine minutes into the second stanza, Pierre headed in a feed from Manny Amine (Detroit, Mich./Wyoming Park) off a corner kick to make the score 3-2.

Before the Lions could find an equalizer, Drummond struck again, depositing a rebound into the back of the net to provide an insurance goal for the Aggies, who held on for the two-goal victory.

Pierre registered three of Brandywine's four shots on goal, while Will Scott-Norris (Wilmington, Del./Mt. Pleasant) made two saves in net.

Brandywine (2-6, 1-1 PSUAC) returns to PSUAC play Thursday with a 4:00 pm match at Penn State Scranton.
