MEDIA, Pa. – Penn State Brandywine captured its eighth-straight win to improve to 9-1 this fall following a 3-1 victory at Williamson College of the Trades on Friday night.
The game was scoreless until the 34th minute when Bill Walleekendeh (Chester, Pa./Chester) netted his USCAA-leading 33rd goal of the season. After receiving a pass from Anthony Neufville (Wallingdale, Pa./Christ Academy), Walleekendeh changed direction and took a shot that beat three Mechanic defenders and goalkeeper Ryan Haines.
Brad Jule (Chadds Ford, Pa./Salesianum) doubled the lead 3:14 later when he followed his own shot and knocked the rebound past Haines.
Walleekendeh added an insurance goal with a penalty kick during the second half, while a late Williamson goal provided the final margin.
The Lions outshot the Mechanics 9-2 and attempted four of the game's six corner kicks. Joe Opdenaker (Lenni, Pa./The Christian Academy) made one stop in net for Brandywine, while Haines stopped six for Wiliamson.
Brandywine continues its five-game road trip Wednesday at Penn State York beginning at 4:00 pm.
