Riebman Nets Three In Victory Over New Kensington

MEDIA, Pa. -- Freshman Chris Riebman (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) scored all three goals during Penn State Brandywine's 3-0 triumph over Penn State New Kensington in the Lions' men's soccer conference opener on Saturday afternoon.

Riebman, the team's leading scorer with six goals, found the back of the net for the first time less than 90 seconds into the match after taking a feed from Brandon Crochunis (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) and the Lions entered halftime with the same 1-0 lead.

Riebman tapped in Rajbir Lohat's (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) long crossing pass to extend the lead to two goals in the 53rd minute. He completed his hat trick by sending a penalty kick past New Kensington goalkeeper Cody Shoemaker at the 68:25 mark.

Riebman and Crochunis both collected seven shots for Brandywine, which held a lopsided, 27-3 edge in the shot column. Brandon Welden (Essington, Pa./Interboro) stopped the lone New Kensington shot on goal, while Will Scott-Norris (Wilmington, Del./Mt. Pleasant) went untested during the first half to earn his third win.

Brandywine (5-3, 1-0 PSUAC), unbeaten in its last 21 conference matches (20-0-1), hosts Penn State York on Monday afternoon at 4:00 pm.
