Eight Players Score In Men’s Soccer Triumph Over York

MEDIA, Pa. -- Eight different players netted at least one goal and three produced multi-goal performances as the Penn State Brandywine men's soccer team rolled over Penn State York by a score of 12-0 on Monday.

Playing its fifth game in nine days, the team showed no signs of fatigue, outshooting York 38-3. The Lions netted nine goals during the opening half, including four during a span of 3:10 early in the match.

"We set the tone right away, scored a gorgeous first goal, and kept our foot on the gas for 90 minutes today. If we can consistently do this, we will be tough to beat moving forward," said Head Coach Jesse Zafiratos.

Josh Burton (West Chester, Pa./PA Cyber Charter) led the offense with three goals, while Mohamed Camara (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) and Brandon Crochunis (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) both netted a pair of scores and one assist.

Crochunis got the scoring started at the 5:53 mark and Mike Usher (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan), Camara, Crochunis and Gurgot Mann (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) all followed in succession during a span of 190 seconds to help put the game out of reach just 18 minutes into the match.

Will Scott-Norris (Wilmington, Del./Mt. Pleasant) stopped both shots he faced during the second half, while Brandon Welden (Essington, Pa./Interboro) did not need to make a save during the first 45 minutes and earned his third win of the season.

Brandywine (6-3, 2-0 PSUAC) continues conference play on Thursday at Penn State Schuylkill (4:00 pm).
