Brandywine Earns 2-2 Road Tie At Altoona

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Facing off for the first time since 2004, former Penn State University Athletic Conference rivals Penn State Brandywine and Penn State Altoona played to a 2-2 draw on Saturday afternoon.

Brandywine (2-1-2) controlled possession, outshooting the hosts 23-13 and recording 10 shots on goal, but could not finish more than two of its shot attempts.

Evan Roland (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) contributed his first career goal off a feed from Mohamed Camara (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) as the teams were square at 1-1 after 45 minutes. Another Brandywine freshman, Joey Cairy (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) added his second score of the year during the second half, an equalizer that knotted the score at 2-2 after receiving a pass from Brandon Crochunis (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East)

Brandywine goalkeeper Brandon Welden (Essington, Pa./Interboro) played all 110 minutes in net, stopping five of the seven shots he faced.

The Lions are back in action Monday night at Rosemont (6:30 PM).
