Lions Drop One-Goal Game To Hood

MEDIA, Pa. -- A goal during the 22nd minute was the difference as Hood College claimed a 1-0 victory over the Penn State Brandywine men's soccer team on Thursday evening.

Kyle McQuillen scored the match's lone goal after a giveaway by the Brandywine defense at the 21:54 mark.

Brandywine had a number of opportunities to find the equalizer, especially during the final half. The Lions saw shots ring off the post twice in the span of 61 seconds. First Brandon Rochester (Chester, Pa./The Christian Academy) found iron and then Luke Segner (Cochranville, Pa./Octorara), with both coming off corner kicks.

A shot by Joey Cairy (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) was also turned away by Hood net minder Isaac Coeto during the 78th minute.

Juan Guerrero (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett) kept the Lions in the game, stopping three shots during each half, as Hood held a 12-6 edge in shots.

Brandywine (3-4-1, 1-0 PSUAC) returns to conference play Saturday when the Lions visit Penn State Mont Alto at 4:00 pm.
