DeBooth, Manful Collect Second Player Of The Week Honors

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine sophomore goalkeeper Elijah DeBooth (West Lawn, Pa./Wilson) was named Penn State University Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for the second time this season on Tuesday, while junior Chris Manful (Baltimore, Md./Woodlawn) earned his second United States Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week selection.

DeBooth went 3-0 with two shutouts during three non-conference matches last week.

On Thursday he made two saves in a 2-1 victory over Albright. He then recorded back-to-back shutouts, totaling five stops in victories over Washington Adventist and Gwynedd Mercy.

DeBooth leads PSUAC goalkeepers in nearly every category this fall. He tops the league in shutouts (3), goals-against average (0.88), save percentage (.813) and is tied for the conference lead with five victories.

A second team all-American in 2021, DeBooth is 12-1-3 during 23 career appearances in net for the Lions.

Manful recorded a point during all four of Brandywine's wins last week, upping his team-leading point total to 15 this fall.

Against Penn State York, Manful scored three times for his first multi-goal performance of the season. He tallied the game-winning goal against Washington Adventist, while distributing assists against Albright and Gwynedd Mercy.

During his first season at Brandywine, Manful has recorded team highs with six goals and three assists through eight games.

Brandywine (6-0-2, 1-0 PSUAC) hosts Penn State Mont Alto Wednesday at 2:00 PM.
