Neumann Claims 6-3 Decision Over Brandywine

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's tennis team saw its three-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday afternoon as the homestanding Lions dropped a 6-3 decision to local rival Neumann University.

The Knights won 2-of-3 doubles matchups before securing the victory with four singles wins.

Wenceslao Lara (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick Twp.) and Victor Ficarra (Glenmoore, Pa./Downingtown STEM Academy) provided Brandywine with a doubles win, claiming the No. 2 bout by an 8-5 count.

Lara was also a winner in his No. 4 singles matchup, outlasting Evan King in straight sets, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4. Phuc Nguyen Ho (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) recorded Brandywine's additional singles triumph, claiming his second-flight match 7-5, 7-6 (7-5).

Brandywine (3-2) will face Williamson for the second time in three days on Thursday afternoon at 3:00 PM. The Lions defeated the Mechanics by a 9-0 score earlier this week.
