Men’s Tennis Earns Second Victory Over Williamson

MEDIA, Pa. -- For the second time in three days, the Penn State Brandywine men's tennis team knocked off Williamson College of the Trades, this time by an 8-1 score, on Thursday afternoon. The Lions swept three doubles matches and earned victories in five-of-six singles matches.

Brandywine's second and third flight doubles teams both won by 8-1 counts as Victor Ficarra (Glenmoore, Pa./Downingtown STEM Academy) and Wenceslao Lara (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick) won at No. 2 and Stevie DiSipio (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) and James Cellucci (Rosemont, Pa./Radnor) claimed triumph at No. 3. Phuc Nguyen Ho (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) and Matt Canavati (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) claimed an 8-3 victory at No. 1.

DiSipio cruised through his No. 5 singles match, winning 6-0, 6-0, while Lara and Canavati also rolled, earning victories by identical 6-1, 6-0 scores.

Ficarra posted a 6-2, 6-2 triumph at No. 3 singles, while Cellucci held on for a 7-6, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles.

Brandywine (4-2) visits FDU-Florham on Sunday for a 2:00 pm match.
