Tennis Teams Drop Home Matches To FDU-Florham

MEDIA, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine men's and women's tennis teams both suffered 9-0 losses to FDU-Florham on Saturday afternoon. The Lions' men's team dropped to 4-3 this spring, while the women's squad is still in search of its first victory through six matches.

On the men's side, the duo of Phuc Nguyen Ho (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) and Victor Ficarra (Glenmoore, Pa./Downingtown STEM Academy) dropped an 8-3 decision, while James Cellucci (Rosemont, Pa./Radnor) and Stevie DiSipio (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) were defeated in their doubles match 8-1.

Ho picked up three points in singles, but fell 8-3, while Arjun Puri (Deptford, N.J./Deptford Twp.) claimed one point at No. 5 singles.

During the women's match, Vidya Nayak (Exton, Pa./West Chester East) and Kate Martin (Runnemede, N.J./Triton Regional) were knocked off 8-0 at No. 1 doubles, while Jaemi Hammond (Media, Pa./Zama American) and Katey Corey (Lansdowne, Pa./Agora Cyber Charter) also were dealt an 8-0 decision.

The Red Devils swept all six singles matchups.

Brandywine's women are back in action Monday against Cairn (3:30 pm), while the men return to the court Tuesday at McDaniel (3:30 pm).
