Brandywine Falls At McDaniel

WESTMINSTER, Md. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's tennis team was defeated at McDaniel College on Wednesday afternoon, falling by a score of 8-1.

Wenceslao Lara (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick Twp.) posted the lone victory on the day for the Lions at No. 3 singles. He was a winner in straight sets, winning by scores of 6-1, 6-4.

Lara and Victor Ficarra (Glenmoore, Pa./Downingtown STEM Academy) nearly claimed their No. 2 doubles match before dropping an 8-6 decision.

Stevie DiSipio (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) picked up eight points at No. 5 singles, but was dealt a 6-3, 7-5 setback, while James Cellucci (Rosemont, Pa./Radnor) collected seven points, falling 6-2, 7-5 at No. 6 singles. Matt Canavati (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) fell in the top-flight singles matchup by a score of 6-4, 6-2.

Brandywine (4-4) returns home Friday to host the College of St. Elizabeth at 3:00 pm.
