Lions’ Track Squad Competes At Widener

CHESTER, Pa. – Penn State Brandywine continued its track & field season on Saturday afternoon at the Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener University.

Raheem Naughty (Philadelphia, Pa./Boys Latin) was the sixth-place finisher in the 400-meter race with a time of 51.32. He was also a member of the 4x400 relay team, along with Jasper Seay (Landenberg, Pa./Kennett), Nate Sobers (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) and David Irby (Glenolden, Pa./Sun Valley) that placed 12th in 3:41.24.

Sobers recorded the Lions' top showing in the 200-meter sprint, recording a time of 24.10 and Ezenwa Osuagwu (Wilmington, Del./Mt. Pleasant) sprinted to a time of 12.10 in the 100-meter race. Irby ran in the 800-meter race, completing it in a time of 2:14.95.

John Li (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) posted a time of 19:06.84 in the 5,000-meter men's race, while Brooke Theveny (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) raced to a 1,500-meter time of 6:44.01.

Brandywine travels to Glassboro, N.J., to compete in Rowan University's Oscar Moore Invitational next Saturday.
