Brandywine Indoor Track & Field Competes At Penn State

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine indoor track & field team had an opportunity to face Division I competition on Saturday as the Lions traveled to University Park for the Penn State Indoor Tune-Up.

Taufiq Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./World Communications Charter) got his day started in the preliminary round of the 60-meter dash, where he placed fifth. His time of 7.35 seconds was good enough to send him to the 60-meter finals. During the final race, Brown improved his time by six one-hundreths of a second and ran to fifth place overall.

Brown also raced in the 200-meter sprint, placing 11th after posting a time of 24.45 seconds.

In the shot put, Caleb Madison (Brookhaven, Pa./Delaware County Christian) recorded a long toss of 8.48 meters. That throw placed Madison in 15th place overall.

Brandywine rounds out the indoor season on Friday in New York City at the Armory Last Chance Meet.
