Brandywine Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season At Delaware Classic
NEWARK, Del. – The Penn State Brandywine men's track & field team got its second varsity spring outdoor season started on Saturday when the Lions competed at the Delaware Classic on the campus of the University of Delaware.
Taufiq Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./World Communications Charter) recorded a top-10 finish to highlight Brandywine's competitors on Saturday. Brown posted a time of 11.84 seconds during the 100-meter sprint, claiming ninth in a field of 21 runners, comprised of athletes from all three NCAA divisions. He added a 17th place showing at the 32-man, 200-meter race, running to a time of 24.34 seconds.
David White (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) made his debut with the Brandywine track and field squad and also claimed a top-10 finish. White fired the javelin 33.76 meters, finishing 10th.
Brandywine will be back in action next Saturday at the Ursinus Invitational beginning at 9:00 am.
