Lions Run At Haverford Invitational In Final Regular Season Tune-Up

MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine cross country teams competed at the Haverford College Invitational on Friday evening, the teams' final meet before the PSUAC Championships on Oct. 29. Both races featured individual scoring only.

Brooke Theveny (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) and Meredith Simpson (Wenonah, N.J./Ursuline Academy) represented the Brandywine women in the three-mile race. Theveny crossed the line in 27:21, while Simpson completed the course in 36:39.

On the men's side, John Li (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) paced six runners for Brandywine with a time of 24:31. Alex Troncelliti (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) ran to a time of 25:58 on the four-mile course, while Raheem Naughty (Philadelphia, Pa./Boys Latin) finished in 28:22.

Henry Lee (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) was one second behind Naughty, while Isaiah Gordon (Chester, Pa./Chichester) (29:08) and James Uyanna (Philadelphia, Pa./John Bartram) (33:28) rounded out the Lions.

Brandywine will run at Penn State Mont Alto on Oct. 29 in the PSUAC Championships beginning with the men's race at 1:00 pm. The women's race will follow one hour later.
