Cross Country Rounds Out Regular Season At Immaculata Invitational

IMMACULATA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine cross country teams closed out the regular season on Thursday afternoon at the Immaculata University Invitational as the Lion men placed fourth, while a pair of runners represented the Lions' women's team.

In the field of eight teams, Brandywine compiled 114 points to finish in the top half of the field, comprised entirely of NCAA Division III squads. Cairn University was the men's champion, while Penn State Abington and Gwynedd Mercy rounded out the top three teams.

Topping Brandywine individually was Brendan Cleary (Chadds Ford, Pa./Garnet Valley), who was named PSUAC Runner of the Week earlier this week, with a time of 14:44 on the 4K course. John Li (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) ran to a 20th-place showing, crossing the finish line in 15:22.

Steve Milnes (West Chester, Pa./Central Bucks South) was the third Lion to run the course, placing 27th overall in a time of 16:19. Luke Dixon (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) finished 10 seconds after Milnes in 29th place, while William Ortiz (Queens, N.Y./Martin Luther School) rounded out Brandywine in a time of 18:01.

On the women's side, A'Nasia Love (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Central) was the 24th runner to cross the finish line, speeding to a time of 13:54. Brooke Theveny (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) posted a 3K time of 15:48, finishing 41st overall.

Brandywine will travel to Penn State Mont Alto for the Penn State University Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, Oct. 28. The women's race begins at 1:00 pm, while the men's championship is slated for a 1:45 pm start.
