Brandywine Competes At USCAA National Championships

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Four Penn State Brandywine cross country runners competed at Friday's United States Collegiate Athletic Association Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships on a rain-soaked course at Bells Mill Park.

Lauren Husain (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) represented the Brandywine women. She posted a 6K time of 32:30, her second-lowest mark of the season, to place 50th in the field of 65 runners.

On the men's side, Kevin O'Neill (Morton, Pa./Springfield) set the pace for the Lions, finishing in 35th place in the field of 85 runners. O'Neill bested his personal-best 8K time by five seconds, crossing the finish line in 33:24.

Darryl Osei (Glenolden, Pa./Bonner-Prendie) was the second Brandywine runner to hit the line, turning in a time of 34:36 as he placed 45th. Tewahido Agonafir (Philadelphia, Pa./Academy at Palumbo) recorded a time of 37:05 to finish 62nd.

SUNY ESF claimed the men's and women's national championships led by individual national champions Matthew Tripp and Katie Richardson.
