Gledhill Named To USCAA National Academic Team

UNIONTOWN, Pa. -- For the second-straight year, Penn State Brandywine junior women's basketball player Chrissy Gledhill (Secane, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) earned National Academic Team laurels from the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.

Gledhill, who owns a 3.62 grade-point average as a human development and family studies major, is also a two-time PSUAC All-Academic Team selection.

The USCAA All-Academic Team is awarded to basketball student-athletes who have accumulated a minimum GPA of 3.50 and reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution.

On the court, Gledhill is averaging 7.2 points per game this winter. The team's fifth-leading scorer, Gledhill netted a career-high 26 points, leading Brandywine to a 71-53 triumph over Penn State Hazleton in the PSUAC championship game on Feb. 19. She knocked down seven three-pointers and was named USCAA Player of the Week following her title game performance.

Brandywine will play its first game at the USCAA Tournament on Thursday against No. 6 Villa Maria at 7:30 pm.
