Brandywine Basketball Teams Learn Seeding, USCAA First Round Opponents

MEDIA, Pa. -- The United States Collegiate Athletic Association released the brackets for next week's national championship basketball tournaments on Tuesday and both of Penn State Brandywine's basketball teams will be seeded fifth.

The Brandywine women, making their fifth appearance all-time, will face No. 4 Warren Wilson College in a first round game on Thursday, March 1 at 7:30 pm inside Maltho Arena on the campus of Penn State Fayette.

Brandywine will play in Uniontown for the second-straight season after repeating as Penn State University Athletic Conference champion on Sunday following a 70-63 victory over Penn State Lehigh Valley. Head Coach Larry Johnson's team owns a 21-6 record, its second consecutive 20-win season.

Brandywine's men completed a 14-win turnaround from last season, winning their 20th game when they earned the PSUAC automatic bid to the USCAA Tournament by defeating Penn State Wilkes Barre 72-63 in the conference title game on Sunday afternoon. Under the guidance of first-year Head Coach Ben Kay, Brandywine claimed its first-ever PSUAC crown and first 20-win season since 2005-06.

Brandywine's first round opponent will be No. 4 NHTI as the Lions open tournament play on Thursday, March 1 at 3:15 pm in Maltho Arena.
