Lehigh Valley Deals Brandywine First PSUAC Defeat

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine women's basketball team suffered its first league setback, dropping an 85-43 decision at Penn State Lehigh Valley on Wednesday night.

Brandywine was limited to 22 percent shooting and turned the ball over 22 times as the Lions dropped to 5-1 in the PSUAC.

Lehigh Valley ran out to a 12-1 lead early in the first quarter and pushed the margin to 42-24 by halftime. Nicolette Napoleon (Springfield, Pa./Penn Charter) knocked down a three-pointers to open the third quarter, but Brandywine was held to just two more made field goals in the period and never trimmed the deficit closer than 19 points the rest of the way.

Madison D'Ambrosio (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) and Ginamarie McNamee (Aston, Pa./Interboro) both recorded eight points, while Brandi James (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) contributed seven points and 13 rebounds.

Brandywine (8-6, 5-1 PSUAC) opens a six-game homestand on Saturday against Penn State York at 1:00 pm.
