Women’s Basketball Announces 2019 Recruiting Class

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine head women's basketball coach Larry Johnson welcomed four student-athletes who have enrolled for the fall semester and will join the Lions' team this winter on Wednesday.

The recruited student-athletes joining the women's basketball team include Jenna Carp, Erin Michael, Dairayonna Stewart-Harold and Kira Thorne.

That quartet will join a Brandywine team that has reached the PSUAC Tournament semifinals 14-straight seasons, the last 13 of which coming under Johnson's watch, and won four conference championships during that time. The Lions have won at least 18 games each of the last seven years.

Below are biographies on each of the Brandywine women's basketball team's four newcomers:

Jenna Carp
Dresher, Pa. | Upper Dublin High School

Carp played her high school basketball at Upper Dublin High School.

Erin Michael
Brookhaven, Pa. | Sun Valley High School

Michael was a four-year letter winner in basketball and also played three years of softball at Sun Valley. She will join her older sister Madison, a sophomore, on the Brandywine women's basketball team.

Dairayonna Stewart-Harold
New Castle, Del. | William Penn High School

Stewart-Harold was a member of the varsity girls basketball team at William Penn High School.

Kira Thorne
Alconbury, England | Alconbury High School

Thorne will be a two-sport athlete at Brandywine, competing on the volleyball team in addition to the women's basketball squad. She owns three years of varsity experience in both sports at Alconbury High School in England, along with two seasons of varsity track. Thorne helped the Alconbury track team win a Division III championship in 2015, while her 2017 volleyball team claimed third place in Division III. During her senior year, she served as a team captain on the basketball and volleyball teams.
