Lions Fall At Eastern

ST. DAVID'S, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine women's basketball team was outscored 39-15 in the second half and dropped a 73-42 non-conference road decision at Eastern University on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions received a team-best 16 points from Amanda Floyd (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) on 6-of-15 shooting. She also tallied six rebounds, two assists and two steals, while Anaiyah Allen (Lutz, Fla./Steinbrenner) and Sierra Diawara (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) both collected eight points and nine rebounds. Amelia Brooks (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) totaled a team-high 10 boards.

Brandywine got baskets from five different players during the opening quarter, but trailed the Eagles 16-13 through 10 minutes. The teams matched each other shot-for-shot throughout the second period until Eastern scored six of the final nine points to bring a 34-27 edge into intermission.

The Eagles limited Brandywine to four made field goals during the final 20 minutes and pulled away using a 34-4 surge.

Brandywine (6-7, 3-4 PSUAC) visits Alvernia Monday night at 7:00 PM.
