Brandywine Drops Second-Straight Matchup With Bryant & Stratton

MEDIA, Pa. -- For the second consecutive day, the Penn State Brandywine women's basketball team was defeated by Bryant & Stratton-Albany as the Lions dropped a 75-51 decision on Saturday afternoon.

Brandywine fell behind 23-12 after one quarter and was limited to a pair of made field goals during the second period as Bryant & Strattion extended its lead to 37-20 at intermission.

Trailing by 19 points early in the third, Brandywine embarked on a 12-0 run that spanned just under three minutes, trimming the Bobcats' lead to seven. Anayiah Allen (Lutz, Fla./Steinbrenner) fueled the surge with six points, while Amelia Brooks' (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) layup capped the Lions' run at the 6:38 mark, bringing the count to 39-32.

The Lions closed to within seven points on three more occasions during the next three minutes; however, a 12-4 spurt from Bryant & Stratton to end the third gave the visitors a 15-point edge through 30 minutes. The Bobcats used a 9-0 run to put the game away midway through the fourth period.

Allen tallied 12 points to lead the Lions' scoring effort, while Sierra Diawara (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) produced 11 points and eight rebounds and Amanda Floyd (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) chipped in 10 points. Brooks pulled down a team-best 12 boards and added seven points.

BSA outrebounded Brandywine 51-40 and posted a 46-20 scoring advantage in the paint. One day after knocking down a season-best 10 triples, the Lions were limited to 1-of-12 shooting from beyond the arc.

Brandywine (6-10, 3-4 PSUAC) returns to conference play Thursday against Penn State Scranton at 6:00 PM.
