MONACA, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine women's basketball team dropped its second game in as many days at a Penn State University Athletic Conference West Division opponent, falling 60-42 at Penn State Beaver on Sunday.
Cheyenne Rivas (Thorndale, Pa./Collegium Charter) was the lone double-figure scorer for the Lions, netting 13 points. Sierra Diawara (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) added six points, while Amanda Floyd (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) and Kaitlyn Johnson (Clifton Heights, Pa./Upper Darby) tied for the team rebounding lead with six boards each.
Beaver scored six of the final eight points of the first quarter to build a 14-9 lead and extended the margin to 31-19 by halftime.
The Lions closed the third quarter with a 9-4 spurt to climb within 11 and narrowed the deficit to 10 points on Rivas' layup at the 4:46 mark of the fourth quarter, but Beaver pulled away during the final minutes.
Brandywine (7-15, 4-9 PSUAC) is back at home Thursday to face Bryn Mawr at 7:00 PM.
