USCAA Names Bush National Goalie Of The Week

MEDIA, Pa. -- The United States Collegiate Athletic Association announced that Penn State Brandywine freshman net minder Emily Bush (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) was named national goalkeeper of the week on Wednesday morning.

In her collegiate debut, Bush stopped all 15 shots she faced in a 3-0 win over Immaculata, the Lions' first-ever victory against an NCAA Division III opponent. She turned away nine shots during the first half and helped preserve the victory with six stops during the final 45 minutes.

Bush's 15 saves are the second-highest, single-game total in the two-year history of the Brandywine women's soccer program. Alyssa Abbonizio made 19 saves against Penn State Greater Allegheny on Oct. 18, 2015.

Brandywine looks for a 2-0 start to the season when the Lions visit Keystone Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
