Brandywine Overwhelms Scranton 11-0

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine improved to 2-0 in Penn State University Athletic Conference women's soccer play behind an 11-0 victory over Penn State Scranton on Saturday afternoon.

Brianna Banks (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Center) scored five of Brandywine's eight first-half goals and assisted on two others for a 12-point day. She scored just 57 seconds into the contest and added three in succession during a seven-minute span in the middle of the stanza before scoring for the fifth time with just 50 ticks left on the clock prior to halftime.

Brooke Muhlbaier (Millville, N.J./Millville) netted a pair of first half goals, while Arianna Segich (Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City) accounted for the eighth score of the half.

Olivia Encarnacion (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) found the back of the net for the second time this season and Danielle Chattin (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Center) and Amber Phillips (Brookhaven, Pa./The Christian Academy) both collected their first scores of the year during the final 45 minutes.

Brandywine outshot Scranton 49-3 as goalkeeper Emily Bush (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) needed to block just one shot for her third win of the year. All three Brandywine wins have come via shutout this season.

Brandywine (3-1, 2-0 PSUAC) faces Penn State Greater Allegheny on Wednesday at 2:00 pm.
